Frequently Asked Questions
-
What types of conditions do you help with?
I work with a wide range of issues, including chronic pain, fatigue, arthritis, long-term conditions, post-hospital rehab, falls prevention, and general health maintenance. If you're unsure whether I can help, feel free to get in touch
-
Do I need a referral from my GP or consultant?
No referral is needed as this is a private practice. You can self-refer and book directly. However, where possible, I’m happy to collaborate with your wider healthcare team if that’s helpful for your care.
-
What can I expect from the first appointment?
The initial consultation is a full 60-minute holistic assessment. We’ll talk about your goals, health history, and lifestyle, and I’ll guide you through a movement screen and plan tailored next steps together.
-
Where do appointments take place?
I offer home visits in the Greater Manchester area, clinic-based sessions out of Gritstone in Ashton, and online appointments via video call. You can choose what works best for you.
-
What if I’m not very active or haven’t exercised in years?
That’s completely fine — many of my clients start from exactly that point. Everything is adapted to your ability, and we focus on building confidence at your own pace.
-
Are your services suitable for older adults?
Yes — absolutely. I regularly work with older adults for rehab, falls prevention, joint pain, and general health maintenance. You’re never too old to start improving your movement and wellbeing.
-
What should I wear to the appointment?
Something comfortable that you can move in — gym kit, leggings, or loose-fitting clothes are ideal. No special equipment needed.
-
Can I mix in-person and online appointments?
Yes! Many clients start with face-to-face sessions and continue online once they feel confident. It’s flexible — we’ll find a setup that works for you.
-
Do you offer ongoing support between appointments?
Yes — I offer optional check-ins and coaching-style follow-up for those who want guidance, motivation, or accountability between sessions.
-
What if you’re not the right fit for my needs?
That’s completely okay. If I can’t help, I’ll do my best to signpost you to someone who can — whether that’s a local service, a specialist, your GP or a community initiative.
-
Are your services covered by private health insurance?
Not at the moment, but I’m happy to provide receipts for you to submit to your insurer if they offer reimbursement for Physiotherapy treatments.
-
Do you work with minors or children?
I do not currently offer paediatric services, however, I take each inquiry case-by-case. Feel free to get in touch and I may at minimum point you in the right direction.
